Description
JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Secures revenue by verifying and posting receipts. Creates billing statements and maintains Accounts Receivable ledgers. Will assist Accounting Department in other areas as appropriate and as time permits.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be changed or expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time-to-time.
*Posts payments and revenues by recording cash, checks, and credit card payments.
*Posts and follows up on charge backs, returned checks, etc.
*Prepares billings as needed and maintain receivables ledgers.
*Monthly reconciliation of revenue original reports to general ledger postings.
*Researches and resolves unallocated payments.
*Generates daily, weekly, or monthly revenue and receipt reports.
*Provides backup for Accounting Cashier.
*Opens and distributes mail.
*Maintains Postage Machine, issues departmental codes.
*Protect organization’s value by keeping all information confidential.
*Accomplishes accounting and organizational goals by completing tasks as assigned and getting desired results.
*Attend meetings and training as required by management.
*Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
*Requires regular and predictable attendance.
*All other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Strong accounting or bookkeeping background. Cash handling experience a plus.
- Advanced strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Excel in particular.
- Competent data entry skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Able to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritize.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Any post-high school education a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating procedures/instructions. Proficiency in English language is required in order to effectively communicate with guests/associates.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
