Hello and welcome to news about the Southern Hospitality Internship Program (SHIP). Sevier County, Tennessee is an extremely popular tourist area located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (the most visited national park in the U.S.).
Parents
Parents & Student Supporters,
SHIP interns first arrived in Sevier County for our first pilot semester, in the summer of 2020. Since that time, we have hosted students from over 30 states across the country.
Although SHIP was created as a bridge between the student and their college or university, we recognize the importance of a ‘connecting path’ with parents and other family members or friends, who provide their student with support.
Each semester, SHIP’s Orientation Session is typically scheduled on the first day of each semester. Your student will be asked to enter SHIP’s contact phone numbers in their phone. In this way we will be able to “keep in touch” throughout the semester and “communicate” important information.
We understand that you may have concerns when your student is away from home. In response to your interest and questions, this section of our website was developed especially for you, to provide information that will be helpful and comforting to know.
Thank you for your support and sharing your student with us.
