Overview:
The Island in Pigeon Forge is a 23-acre retail, entertainment, attraction and dining destination, featuring The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel and Island Show Fountains, in the heart of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Our destination combines all things fun in a safe environment for families and friends of all ages where they can eat, shop, play and stay! As an Attractions Operations Intern you will work alongside an Operations Manager daily to ensure our guests have a fun and safe experience while making memories to last a lifetime. Our fast- paced work environment will challenge you to 'think on your feet' as you ensure we have the best staffing in the right places to meet the needs of our guests. No two days will be the same, from selling tickets, to operating rides, to greeting buses, to working events, this internship will provide you with valuable operational management skills to take with you in your career.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the Rides, Ropes and Ticket Departments.
- Assist in ensuring proper staffing levels are maintained at all times during the day.
- Work as a ticket seller, ride attendant and/or ropes course attendant as needed.
- Greet tour buses and provide way finding information.
- Coordinate and execute special events like proposals, gender reveals, weddings, performance groups, and property wide events as assigned.
- Represent The Island in Pigeon Forge at off-site networking meetings, conferences, and youth sporting events.
- Attend staff meetings as needed.
- Maintain operational, safety, cleanliness and guest service standards at all times.
- Ensure all handbook policies and procedures are followed by all staff.
- Interact with guests to ensure the departments are operating at the highest of standards.
- Assist in resolving guest complaints.
- Assist the Operations Manager in case of emergency management responses to incidents such as power outages, inclement weather and ride incidents.

- Able to work outdoors in all temperatures and conditions.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
