Description
The IT Department has an exciting opportunity for an IT Intern to join our team. This candidate will be self-driven, quick learner, and have an interest in information technology. Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the IT intern will be responsible for assisting with technology needs by performing software installations, setting up personal computers along with point of sale systems, as well as many other related tasks. The intern will work under the direction of the IT Supervisor(s) to support the day to day operations of the Ripley’s attractions.

The intern will report directly to the IT manager and will be responsible for assisting with technology needs and supporting day-to-day operations at our Sevier County locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help Open the Aquarium
- Turning on Building Audio
- Turning on TV’s and ensuring all video and audio players are working correctly.
- Remoting into Point of Sale (POS) systems to ensure proper function.
- Full Aquarium walkthrough.
- Morning IT Walkthrough Report
- Checking messages via email, voicemail, teams, Kace ticketing, etc. for actionable items for the day
- Projects
- Cable running
- Networking
- Systems maintenance
- New system integration
- Evaluation of potential systems and hardware
- Installation and/or mounting of hardware.
- Maintenance and Cleaning of All IT equipment.
- Troubleshooting customer issues (our customers are POS users as well as Employees and managers)
- Software systems:
- Microsoft office, Adobe, Databasing, Reporting, Email
- POS issues
- Hardware: IE monitors, PCs, input devices, printers
- Software: Sales, reporting, and POS management software
- Software systems:
- Item Creation, modification, deletion, etc.
- Systems issues
- There are many and varied systems at the Aquarium and our attractions that will require standard troubleshooting for various issues. These can include power, network, programming, software, and many other issues.
- Nonstandard Duties
- Penguin Parade
- We assist with and manage the penguin parade security, crowd control mostly, but anything that the husbandry department needs from us to complete the parade safely for the penguins.
- Bus parking, when we are available, we assist with directing buses and coaches so they can park safely at the aquarium.
- River Cleanups, we will participate in river cleanups and environmental protection days (cleaning up trash, etc.) at various times of the year.

Qualifications

- May require usage of manual and power tools to accomplish our projects, including:
- Power tools for drilling and cutting
- Soldering equipment
- Cutting and crimping tools to put various ends on custom made cabling
- Manual tools for various fasteners
- 3d printing and scanning tools
- Glues and adhesives
- Lubricants and cleaners
