Description
Get hands-on experience organizing and executing award-winning events and festivals. This internship provides an immersive opportunity to work closely with veteran events industry and marketing professionals to produce multiple large and small events this spring, including Sevierville’s Bloomin’ BBQ Music & Food Festival and the Smallmouth King Bass Tournament. This internship will provide firsthand knowledge of event planning, logistics, marketing, and reporting.
Event production is a multi-disciplinary profession requiring attention to detail, creative problem solving, and relationship building. Specific beginning and ending dates for this internship opportunity are March 15, 2022 – June 21, 2022.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with event planning and attend all planning meetings.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining event-related registrations.
- Assist with communications to external event partners as directed by the Events Manager and/or Marketing Director prior to the event.
- Attend and assist in the execution of events. This includes day-of-event setup, event operations, and event breakdown.
- Work with the Marketing team to promote events to appropriate audiences through various channels.
- Perform various other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Flexibility to work varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Can work collaboratively in a team setting as well as independently.
