Food & Beverage Management Intern Job Description
Picture this…. You come to work every day and get to take in the amazing view of the Great Smoky Mountains. If you have passion for food and beverage – this could be the perfect fit for you to complete your internship!
The facility provides an atmosphere of community to sports clubs, event organizers, and participants and focuses on these principle offerings:
- Youth and adult leagues, tournaments and events
- Youth sports training programs, clinics and camps
- Sports performance and fitness training
- Facility rentals for corporate meetings and social gathering events
Internship Overview:
- Interns will complete a semester long internship to satisfy graduation requirements
- Some students may have longer or shorter practicum requirements with less/more time commitment. Commitment length will be addressed individually.
- We do not require a set intern schedule, but will be flexible to accommodate any individual requirements such as class commitments
- Interns must be available on weekends for facility tournaments and events
- Interns may be required to assist with additional projects or tasks outside of their traditional scope of work, especially during weekend tournaments and events
Internship Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Assist with management of daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the venue’s concessions and special events to ensure quality consistent product is produced
- Assist Food and Beverage Manager in weekly and monthly inventory
- Assist Food and Beverage Manager with weekly product ordering, as well as proper rotation of all stock
- Assist with management of concession areas during event
- Manage the efficient use of supplies during events
- Assist with management of part time staff
- Assist with catering orders
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Must be willing to work outside for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
Preferred Requirements:
- Currently a student or a recent graduate studying hospitality, business administration and management or a related field
- Previous experience in food service
- Basic knowledge of food handling safety
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong desire to learn
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Demonstrate success with multi-tasking and organizing multiple priorities
- Self-motivated and has initiative to complete tasks in a timely fashion
