Real-life experience and resume credentials: The Sweet’s Production Internship is a unique opportunity for a real-life work experience in the world of resort hospitality. Work alongside our energetic Candi’s Candy Kitchen Team as you learn the craft of brightening our guests’ experience through treats. From the candy shop to the ice cream parlor, you will learn invaluable skills about sweets, customer experience, and communication. It’s the perfect combination of product management and hospitality. You will sharpen your communication skills as you interact and build relationships with our
guests on a daily basis.
Punctuality, timeliness, consistently reporting to work as scheduled and valid reasons for absences is extremely important in our business operations.

Our interns receive a competitive wage starting at $17 per hour, paid on a weekly basis. But the benefits don’t stop there! Primary Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Interns typically work 8-hour shifts, based on resort occupancy and staffing demand. Holidays and weekends are affected by peak demand which means all team members must work together during those days to keep the SMR property running efficiently. Within their respective assignments the Intern will:
- Assist the Confectionery Chef to:
- Create and make an array of sweet treats produced in a uniquely themed candy production kitchen designed for guest viewing and experience.
- Work alongside team members to visually present sweet treats in display cases which enhance the guest experience and WOW factor.
- Manage inventory and ensure the proper quantity and organization of products.
- Showcase an enticing and sweet atmosphere for all guests.
- Assist with the oversight of product rotation for both raw and prepared goods.
- Comply with food safety procedures.
- Adhere to ServSafe training guidelines including, but not limited to; handwashing, food storage, cooking temperatures, hot and cold holding parameters, and equipment, infrastructure and eater requirements.
- Learn transaction sales procedures and systems.
- Compliance with TOSHA certification, biohazards procedures and responsibilities for safety in handling.
- Knowledge and ability to comply with all company operating policies and procedures.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and/or assigned.
- Management reserves the right to change, remove or add to these duties as necessary.

Education / Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Enrolled in an accredited University or College, (or recent graduate, up to 2-years) is required.
- Pursuing a degree related to Hospitality or Business is preferred.
- Certification for ‘ServSafe Food Handler Program’ is required within 30 days from work start date (Basic Food Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cross-Contamination and Allergens, Time & Temperature, & Cleaning and Sanitation).
- Ability to work within a diverse workforce.
- Reliable transportation is required.
