Want to explore the Smokies while contributing to science this summer? Discover Life in America is hiring biology interns for June and July 2026! Tasks include collecting, processing, and identifying specimens, assisting with public outreach events, and more.

Photography/videography interns help us to visually capture our activities and the richness of biodiversity in the Smokies. This internship an opportunity to practice your skills both in front of and behind the camera in the field in a world-class setting. From the magnificent and ever-changing vistas in the Smokies, to the stories of millions of park visitors, to the mysterious and spectacular macro-world just under our feet, there is so much to see and hear in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Qualifications
- Possess considerable experience in the arts of photography and/or videography
- Have your own digital camera and equipment capable of producing professional quality photographs and/or video (highly recommended)
- Be able to use Adobe Photoshop Suite (or similar program) to create attractive brochures and educational materials
- Keen attention to detail when editing and fact checking
